LQ12 Data Link Preinstalled Version

The remote controller and mobile unit have already been verified at the factory to connect and communicate properly. Users need to customize the data link configuration according to their own needs.

Note: Under suburban line-of-sight conditions at an altitude of 120 meters, the LQ12 has a flight range of 5.5KM. It uses the 2.4G/5.8G frequency bands. It does not support networking and offers strong dual-band interference resistance.

Therefore, this chapter only provides an example of expanding the data link system. For more details, refer to the original product Wiki: LQ12 User Manual

This corresponds to the “Optional Data Link Package (LQ12 Data Link)” in the Packing List, which includes:

• QE3 station unit: 1 unit, built directly into the QE3 remote controller by the manufacturer before shipment, with no separate installation required; for units purchased later, refer to the Data Link Expansion Instructions for DIY installation. Our company only provides consultation services for the normal use of the QE3, LQ10, LQ12, and fiber-optic data link products themselves.
• LQ12 mobile unit: 1 unit, installed on the aircraft / vehicle side to provide the mobile-unit data link and data transmission link;
• Mobile Unit Telemetry Cable (GH1.25 4pin): used to connect the mobile-unit data link module to the serial/telemetry port of equipment such as a flight controller;
• Mobile Unit Ethernet Cable: used to connect pods and other devices with Ethernet ports, enabling Ethernet communication for video or control data;
• Mobile Unit Antenna Extension Cables (RF extension cable ×2): used to route the antennas of the mobile-unit data link module to suitable positions;
• Mobile Unit XT30 Power Extension Cable: used to supply power to the mobile-unit data link module.

If the actual in-box quantities or cable-harness specifications differ from this section, refer to the packing list for the shipment.

Typical Configuration and Parameter Example

The following is an example of configuring two LQ12 data link units in a one-to-one connection. Before configuration, ensure that the cables are connected correctly. Use QGroundControl as the ground station. This configuration is intended for scenarios in which one remote controller controls one device (refer to the official LQ12 manual for the specific steps):

Configuration procedure: Open [Settings] > [Network & internet] > [Virtual networks], then tap the virtual network configuration to configure it (configuration is for reference only)

Tip: The virtual network and Ethernet cannot be on the same subnet.
