The remote controller and mobile unit have been verified at the factory to connect and communicate normally. Users need to customize the data link configuration according to their own needs.

Note: At an altitude of 120 meters in suburban line-of-sight flight, the LQ10 has a flight range of 5KM and operates in the 5.8G frequency band. It supports networking, and in broadband mode it can reach 95Mpb/s within 1.5km.

Therefore, this chapter only provides an example of data link expansion. For more details, see the product's original Wiki: LQ10 User Manual

This corresponds to the “Optional Data Link Package (LQ10)” in the Packing List, which includes:

  • QE3 station unit: 1 unit, built directly into the QE3 remote controller by the manufacturer before shipment, with no separate installation required by the user; for units purchased later, refer to the Data Link Expansion Instructions for DIY installation. We only provide consultation services for the normal use of the QE3, LQ10, LQ12, and fiber-optic data link products themselves.
  • LQ10 mobile unit: 1 unit, installed on the aircraft / vehicle side to provide the mobile-unit data link and data transmission link;
  • Mobile Unit Data Transmission Cable (GH1.25 3pin): Used to connect the mobile-unit data link to a serial/data transmission port on a flight controller or other device;
  • Mobile Unit Ethernet Cable: Used to connect gimbal payloads and other Ethernet devices for Ethernet-based video or control data exchange;
  • Mobile Unit Antenna Extension Cables (RF extension cables ×2): Used to route the mobile-unit data link antennas to suitable locations;
  • Mobile Unit XT30 Power Extension Cable: Used to power the mobile-unit data link.

If the actual quantity of items or cable-harness specifications differs from this section, refer to the packing list for the specific shipment.

The LQ10's MTU is known to support only values below 1400. Therefore, setting the camera/gimbal payload MTU below 1400 to match is a prerequisite for normal stream acquisition.

Typical Configuration and Parameter Examples

The following is an example of a one-to-one connection configured between two LQ10 data link units. Before configuration, make sure the cables are connected correctly. Use QGroundControl as the ground control station. This setup is intended for scenarios in which one remote controller controls one device. (For the specific steps, refer to the official LQ10 manual.)

Tip: The configurations above are for reference only. Users need to configure the units according to their actual requirements.

Caution: For serial-port operations, select Remote Target at the data-sending end. Select Local Listening for data reception. The baud rates must match, and a forwarding rule must be added after the corresponding serial port is enabled.

Caution: For bandwidth and rate configuration, the operating mode must be the same at both ends: either both in broadband mode or both in narrowband mode. Otherwise, pairing will fail.
