Preparations Before Power-On

Safety Check

  1. Check the battery level

    • Confirm that the device has sufficient battery power (recommended: > 20%).
    • If the battery level is too low, charge it first as instructed in the "Battery Safety and Charging Specifications" section.
  2. Inspect the exterior and interfaces

    • Check that the remote controller enclosure and antennas are intact, with no visible damage or looseness.
    • Confirm that all interfaces (USB, Ethernet port, video-transmission expansion bay, etc.) are free of foreign objects.
  3. User experience and training recommendations

    • Before performing an engineering mission, we recommend familiarizing yourself with QE3 functions and safety mechanisms through ground or simulation practice.

Power-On Procedure

Step 1: Press the Power Button Briefly, Then Press and Hold It

  • Operation: Briefly press the power button (item 7 in the figure) once, then press and hold it for approximately 3 seconds.
  • Feedback: Release the button after you hear a prompt tone or see the power indicators illuminate in sequence until all are lit.

Step 2: Wait for the System to Start

  • Startup time: Typically 25–30 seconds.
  • Startup screen: Displays the brand logo and system loading screen.
  • Completion indicator: The default desktop or main interface appears.

Step 3: Check the Controller After Startup

  1. Screen display:

    • Confirm that the screen shows no error messages or obvious bright/dead pixels.
    • Confirm that touch input responds normally. If it is inaccurate, contact ROBOSN technical support.
  2. Indicator status and basic self-test:

    • Confirm that the power indicator shows the normal powered-on state.
    • Swipe and tap briefly to test the touchscreen.
    • If a video link or unmanned platform is connected, confirm that the connection status is normal.

QE3 Remote Controller Status Bar

This is the status bar displayed after swiping down on the QE3 remote controller's main interface. The remote controller runs Android, and its basic operation is similar to that of an Android phone.

Connect the Remote Controller to a Computer

Configure the computer and QE3 remote controller on the same subnet and connect them with an Ethernet cable. The computer can run QGC or remotely access the onboard computer for development.

In the diagram, the LQ-10 built into the QE3 is the AP endpoint, while the LQ-10 on the UAV is the STA endpoint. The IP addresses of the computer, QE3, both LQ-10 endpoints, and onboard computer can be customized for the on-site network, but network connectivity must be maintained and addresses must not conflict.

Router Connection

Prepare a router. Configure the UAV-side LQ-10, the LQ-10 built into the remote controller, and the onboard computer on the router's subnet. Then connect the router to the remote controller. This gives the onboard computer Internet access for AI deployment and development testing.

Connect the router to the QE3 through the Ethernet port. If Internet access is required, connect the router to an upstream network. The development computer can connect over Wi-Fi to access the onboard computer remotely.
