Offline Baidu Maps

This section describes how to use the Baidu Maps features in the ground control station.

Switch Map Layers

Baidu Maps provides three layers: street map, satellite map, and hybrid map.

You can switch layers in the outlined area. Switch from the satellite map to enable the hybrid map.

Download Offline Maps

By default, only an offline map of part of the area near AMOVLAB is provided. Download map data to display other locations.

Follow the steps shown above:

• Click the Map Download button marked 1. The window marked 2 appears.
• In the area marked 3, select the type of map to download: street map, satellite map, or road network map. The hybrid map shown in the ground control station combines the satellite and road network maps.
• In the area marked 4, select the download area: visible area, administrative area, or selected area.
  • Visible area: Downloads the area within the boundaries currently displayed in the software.
  • Administrative area: Select an administrative area from the drop-down list or enter its name to download it.
  • Selected area: Draw a rectangle on the map to define the download boundary, as shown below:
• Click Load in the area marked 5. The tile download table displays the number of tiles in the selected area. Zoom levels range from 4 to 19, with level 19 providing the greatest magnification.
• Click Select All in the area marked 6 to select tiles at every zoom level. You can also manually select the required levels.
• Click Download in the area marked 7. Check download progress in the tile table and in the message displayed on the download button.
