This section describes preflight preparations, including powering on the equipment, connecting QGC Ground Station, and performing preflight checks.

Remote Controller Channels

Note: Before the UAV takes off, switches SWA/SWB/SWC/SWD on the remote controller must be in their default top positions. Check before takeoff that all channel switches are in the top position. image.png

Name Switch Top Position Middle Position Bottom Position
H16 Remote Controller SW1 Disarm the UAV Unused Arm the UAV
SW2 POSCTL remote controller Position mode in INIT control state;
the coordinate frame is based on the aircraft body frame
Remote controller control mode in Offboard mode under RC_POS_CONTROL control state;
the coordinate frame is based on the ENU inertial frame
Autonomous control mode in Offboard mode
under COMMAND_CONTROL control state
SW3 Disable emergency landing Unused Enable emergency landing (locks the propellers immediately)
SW4 Disable landing Unused Enable landing (slow descent)

Power On

  • Power on the aircraft
    • Power on: Briefly press the aircraft power button. After power-on, the LED under each of the four motors illuminates.
    • Power off: Press and hold the aircraft power button. After power-off, the LEDs under the four motors turn off.
  • Power on the remote controller
    • Check the battery level: Briefly press the remote controller power button to display the remaining battery percentage.
    • Power on the remote controller: Press and hold the remote controller power button. The remote controller starts and displays the main interface.
    • Power off the remote controller: Press and hold the remote controller power button. When the options appear, tap Power Off. The remote controller displays the power-off screen.

Connect QGC Ground Station

Preflight Check

  • Place the aircraft outdoors on level, open ground. Ensure there are no obstacles, buildings, trees, or other obstructions nearby. The pilot must stand 5 m from the aircraft and face its tail.
Description
  • Check the battery level and install the battery.

  • Check that the aircraft's exterior is intact, with no visible collision damage or abnormalities.

  • Confirm that the safety tether is ready.

  • Ensure that the aircraft's gimbal camera faces forward.

  • Ensure that the remote controller antennas are unfolded.

  • Power on the remote controller and ensure that all its switches are in their default positions: SWA–SWD are in the top position by default. Power on the aircraft. Check the signal-strength indicator in the remote controller status bar to confirm that it has paired successfully with the aircraft receiver and has control authority over the aircraft.

  • Connect to QGC Ground Station and open the flight interface. Check the satellite count, flight mode, battery level, remote controller settings, flight-mode settings, and other flight-related parameters. Ensure that parameter settings and calibrations meet your requirements to maintain flight safety.

  • If multiple aircraft are being tested simultaneously, divide the airspace between them to prevent midair collisions and serious safety accidents.

Correct RTK Data Deviation

Note: This Operation Can Be Performed Only While the UAV Is Disarmed!

QGC Ground Station procedure

  1. Click MAVLink Inspector.
  2. Scroll down and locate LOCAL_POSITION_NED.
  3. When the X, Y, and Z values are close to 0, calibration is successful and the UAV can take off normally.
Description

Prometheus Ground Station Pro procedure

  1. Click Feature Scripts in the ground station.
  2. Click ekf2 stop.
  3. Click ekf2 start.

Clear the Alarm

  • Move SW1 to the bottom position to arm the UAV. The beeping alarm will stop.

  • Move SW1 to the top position to disarm the UAV, or move SW3 to the bottom position to lock the propellers and disarm the UAV with one action.
