Structural Installation Method

This section provides customers with our standard installation SOP to facilitate disassembly and reassembly and to offer some ideas for structural design.

This section provides customers with our standard installation SOP to facilitate disassembly and reassembly and to offer some ideas for structural design.

FlyCore Base Plate Installation

Expansion Board Installation

  • Place the lower base plate upside down on a flat table.
  • Align the communication expansion board with the 4 metal standoffs on the lower base plate.
  • Turn the M2X4 screws clockwise and tighten the 4 standoffs. image.png

IMU Installation Steps

  • Assemble the IMU daughterboard and the IMU counterweight.

  • Attach foam pads with double-sided adhesive to the top and bottom of the counterweight. image.png

  • Route the IMU ribbon cable out through the IMU top cover.

  • Fit and align the IMU top and bottom covers, insert 4 M1.6x10 screws, and turn them clockwise to tighten them. image.png

  • Install the standard vibration-damping balls in the 4 vibration-damping ball mounting holes in the lower plate. image.png

  • Insert the vibration-damping balls of the complete IMU module into the vibration-damping ball mounting holes in the base plate. Ensure that the module is not loose and will not fall out, and that the IMU's range of motion is not restricted by pulling or other interference.

Heat Sink and Cooling Fan Installation

  • Install the thermal silicone pads at the positions shown below on the lower motherboard and fit the shielding cover (the large thermal silicone pad is 0.5mm, and the small one is 2.5mm). image.png
  • Attach a 1mm thermal silicone pad to the protruding section of the heat sink.
  • First, plug the cooling fan into the fan connector. Then install the heat sink and cooling fan on the bottom enclosure and tighten the M1.6x6 screws. image.png
  • Secure the heat sink's bottom enclosure with M2x4 screws, and secure the lower base plate with M2x6 screws. image.png image.png
  • Insert 4 M3x35 support posts and tighten the M3x6 fixing screws at the bottom. image.png

FlyCore Upper Board Installation

SSD and Vision Processing Board Installation

  • Place the FlyCore onboard board upside down on the table, insert the M2 solid-state drive into the solid-state drive slot, and tighten the solid-state drive screw. image.png
  • Align the metal pads on the vision processing board with the metal standoffs on the onboard board. Once aligned, press firmly until you hear a click, and then secure it with M2x4 screws. image.png
  • Apply thermal paste to the Intel chip on the FlyCore onboard board, and attach 1mm silicone pads to the remaining areas as shown. image.png

Cooling Fins and Fan Installation

  • Align the cooling fan's screw holes with the metal screw holes on the cooling fins and secure them with M2. 5x6 screws. image.png
  • Connect the cooling fan plug to the FlyCore fan connector. image.png

Expansion Daughterboard Installation

  • Insert the end of the ribbon cable marked X86 into the FlyCore ribbon cable connector shown below.
  • Insert the end of the ribbon cable marked INTERFACE into the ribbon cable connector on the expansion daughterboard. image.png
  • Align the through-hole pads on the daughterboard with the metal standoffs on the FlyCore and secure them with M2x4 screws. image.png

FlyCore Radar and Vision Bracket Installation

Vision Camera and Optical Filter Installation

  • With the arrow markings on the front and rear camera modules facing upward, snap the modules onto the protruding threaded posts on the bracket and secure them with M2x6 screws.
  • Fit the optical filter protective covers onto the 4 cameras and secure them with M2x4 screws. image.png

Radar and Protective Cover Installation

  • Align the radar base with the bracket interface and secure it with M3x5 screws. image.png
  • Connect the radar interface board and interface cable to the radar, and route the radar cable out through the cable outlet on the bracket. image.png
  • Install the radar protective cover over the radar and secure it with M2x6 screws. image.png

Overall FlyCore Installation

Installing the Bracket, Cameras, and Radar Wiring

  • Align the bracket with the mounting interfaces on the cooling fins and secure it with M3x25 screws. image.png
  • Snap the cameras into the respective MIPI connectors as shown below. image.png
  • Attach vibration-damping foam to each camera retaining plate.
  • Align the retaining plates with the threaded posts and secure them with M2x4 screws. image.png
  • Connect the radar cable on the daughterboard to the radar connector on the FlyCore expansion daughterboard.
  • Connect the upper board's positioning cable to the positioning connector on the lower board. image.png

User-Side RTK Installation (This Section Is for User Installation, Not a Production Requirement)

  • Remove the support post screws from the base.
  • Remove the entire base.
  • Insert the RTK bracket into the antenna interface from the bottom.
  • Install the bracket into the support post and tighten the screw. image.png
  • Connect the antenna snap cable to the ANT connector.
