Prerequisites

  • Initial Connection and Parameter Protection has been completed.
  • The current parameters have been exported and backed up.
  • The flight controller is securely mounted, and its actual mounting orientation has been confirmed.
  • All propellers have been removed.

1. Accelerometer Calibration

Recalibrate the accelerometer during initial installation, after changing AHRS_ORIENTATION, after removing and reinstalling the flight controller, or when the attitude displayed in the ground station is clearly tilted while the aircraft is level.

  1. In Mission Planner, open the Accel Calibration page.
  2. Place the aircraft in each orientation as prompted on the page and complete the calibration.
  3. Save the parameters and restart the flight controller.
  4. Place the aircraft on a level surface and verify that the attitude display in the ground station is normal.
  5. Hold the aircraft, raise its nose, and roll it left and right. Verify that the changes shown in the ground station match the actual movements.

Verification Results

  • When the aircraft is level, the attitude display shows no obvious tilt.
  • When the nose is raised, the display shows Pitch Up.
  • When the right arm is pressed downward, the display shows Roll Right.

If any direction is inconsistent, do not arm the aircraft. Recheck AHRS_ORIENTATION and recalibrate.

2. External Compass Calibration

The FlyCore flight controller has no onboard compass. If an external compass is used, it can be connected through I2C1 or I2C4.

  1. Install the compass away from power cables, ESCs, motors, magnets, and high-current wiring harnesses.
  2. Verify the compass's actual mounting orientation. For a non-standard installation, set COMPASS_ORIENT in Mission Planner.
  3. Perform compass calibration on the Compass page in an environment away from metal tables and strong magnetic interference.
  4. After calibration, point the aircraft nose in a known direction and verify the heading in the ground station.
  5. Slowly rotate the aircraft through one full turn and verify that the heading changes continuously without obvious jumps.

3. Remote Controller Calibration

  1. Connect the receiver and turn on the remote controller.
  2. In Mission Planner, open the Radio Calibration page.
  3. Operate the roll, pitch, throttle, yaw, and mode controls in sequence.
  4. Verify that each channel's response, direction, center value, and endpoints are correct.
  5. Turn off the remote controller and verify that Mission Planner detects the loss of the remote-control link.

4. Flight Mode Verification

Mode Purpose
Stabilize Basic attitude stabilization and manual takeover
AltHold Altitude-hold flight
Loiter GPS position hold
RTL Return to launch
Land Automatic landing
  1. In Mission Planner, open the flight mode setup page.
  2. Switch through the mode switch positions on the remote controller one by one.
  3. Record the mode name corresponding to each switch position.
  4. Verify that the selected modes meet the actual mission requirements rather than directly retaining the test aircraft configuration.

5. Motor Output Check

Warning:

Before entering Motor Test, confirm again that all propellers have been removed. The FlyCore flight controller does not restrict the airframe type, and the test aircraft's airframe parameters must not be used as the defaults for the customer's airframe.

  1. Set FRAME_CLASS and FRAME_TYPE according to the actual airframe.
  2. In Mission Planner, open the Motor Test page.
  3. Test each motor individually and verify that its motor number matches the airframe layout.
  4. Verify that each motor responds individually and rotates in the correct direction.
  5. Check that the ESC power supply is stable and verify that the output protocol matches the ESC.
  6. If the airframe or output parameters are changed, save the parameters, restart the flight controller, and test again.
