This section explains how to configure the communication link so that you can connect to the Prometheus ground control station, remotely connect via NoMachine, and connect to the QGC ground control station.

Connect the LQ to a laptop

  • Connect the LQ communication link directly to the computer with an Ethernet cable, and then configure the computer's network settings
  • The figure below shows the LAN1 and LAN2 ports on the LQ ground unit

Configure the network on a Windows 11 computer

  • In Windows, locate the area shown below and right-click it to open the network settings

  1. Select Manual
  2. Turn on IPv4
  3. Enter the IP address: 192.168.1.123
  4. Enter the subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  5. Enter the gateway: 192.168.1.1
  6. Enter the DNS server: 8.8.8.8
  7. Save the configuration, then unplug and reconnect the Ethernet cable for the changes to take effect

Connect to the onboard computer

NoMachine allows you to remotely access the onboard computer's desktop from a laptop to monitor the program's operating status. The onboard computer has the static IP address 192.168.1.11, and both the username and password are amov.

Caution

Before connecting, complete “Configure the network on a Windows 11 computer” above, turn on the remote controller, and use an Ethernet cable to connect the LQ communication link to the computer (see “Connect the LQ to a laptop” above for the wiring method).

Connect to the QGC ground control station

  1. After opening the QGC ground control station, click to open the settings screen

  1. Click to open the Application Settings screen

  1. Click Comm Links
  2. Add a new connection

  1. Name: Enter any name, for example, P450
  2. Select the connection type and choose UDP
  3. Select the port number. The factory-default port number is 8080
  4. Click OK

  1. Select the P450 connection you just created
  2. Click Connect

  1. Click to return to the Fly View

  1. QGC is now successfully connected, and you can monitor the UAV's attitude and status information
