This section explains how to download the Prometheus ground control station, the QGC ground control station, and the NoMachine remote desktop software.

  • The Prometheus ground control station is developed in-house by AmovLab. It can directly launch programs on the onboard computer, allowing advanced UAV functions to be reproduced.
  • The QGC ground control station is an open-source ground control station that can display UAV status, control UAV flight, and more.
  • The NoMachine remote desktop software provides a remote connection to the onboard computer, enabling remote operation from the ground.

1. Download the Prometheus ground control station

Warning

Due to the publication date of this tutorial and upgrades to product features and code:
1. The ground control station version may differ from the version shown in this tutorial.
2. The names and order of custom demos in the function scripts may vary slightly.
3. Windows 10 and Windows 11 are supported (virtual machines are not supported).
4. Only computers with the x86 architecture are currently supported.
5. An Android version is not currently available.
6. If you encounter any issues while using this product, contact after-sales support.

I. Download and configure the Prometheus professional ground control station

  • After the download is complete, locate PGSMaintenanceTool on the computer desktop.

  • Run the software and click Next.

  • Select version 1.26.08.14 (select the latest version available; the figure below is an example of the ground control station update utility).
  1. Select version 1.26.08.14.
  2. Select this option to download offline maps.
  3. Select P450-mid360 to download the configuration file for this UAV configuration. Do not select multiple options; otherwise, the last file downloaded will be used as the configuration file.
  4. Create a shortcut.
  5. Select the option to delete old files.
  6. Click Next to start the download.

  • When the download and installation progress reaches 100%, click Exit and return to the computer desktop to use the software. Before exiting, confirm that the file was downloaded successfully, extraction is complete, and the shortcut was created successfully.

II. Verification

Verification method 1

  • A dialog box will appear after you launch the ground control station.
  1. Copy the verification code and send it to after-sales support.
  2. After-sales support will return a new verification code. Copy the code sent by after-sales support and paste it here.
  3. Click Verify to use the ground control station software normally.

Verification method 2

  1. Run the ground control station software.
  2. In the dialog box, select SN verification.
  3. Enter the SN code and click Verify (the SN is on the nameplate beneath the aircraft nose).

III. Verification complete

  1. After verification is complete, click Function Scripts.
  2. View the current version.

2. Download the QGC ground control station

QGroundControl (QGC) is open-source, cross-platform UAV ground control station software. It is based on the MAVLink protocol and is compatible with mainstream flight controllers such as PX4/ArduPilot. It can display flight status, battery status, communication link status, and more.

3. Download NoMachine remote desktop

NoMachine is based on the NX protocol and is free for personal use. It is used to remotely access the onboard computer desktop from a computer (onboard IP: 192.168.1.11; username/password: amov/amov).
