One-to-Many Configuration Quick Start Guide for Beginners

Tip

Before studying this chapter, make sure you have read the “Unboxing Guide” chapter and completed the basic LQ-10 assembly. Also make sure that you have at least three LQ-10 devices before beginning this chapter.

One-to-many networking connects multiple LQ-10 devices wirelessly in a star network, enabling communication between them. It is similar to a router serving as a central node, with multiple devices such as phones, computers, and tablets connected to the router and communicating through that central router.

Accessing the Configuration Web Page

Caution

After one-to-many networking is enabled on the LQ-10, all networked devices share the bandwidth. In other words, all devices in the network share a total bandwidth of 100Mbps.

LQ-10 Configuration

  • Connect the Ethernet adapter supplied with the LQ-10 to the computer's Ethernet port.
  • Connect the power cable supplied with the LQ-10 to the power port, and set the supply voltage to 9V–15V.

Prerequisite Concepts

AP (Access Point) mode: A wireless access point is the creator and center of a network. It provides wireless network service and allows users to connect to the network wirelessly.

STA (Station) mode: A wireless client is a network user that connects to the network wirelessly.

Channel: Put simply, a channel is a path for signals. Channel switching means switching between channels so that devices can find the best signal path for communication.

One-to-Many Network Configuration

Caution

This chapter covers only the basic one-to-many network configuration method and a quick implementation. To learn more about advanced configuration methods such as serial passthrough and SBUS, refer to the “Configuration Guide” chapter.
  1. First prepare three or more LQ-10 devices and designate them as the LQ-10 primary device (AP unit) and two (or more) LQ-10 secondary devices (STA units).

  2. Connect the LQ-10 AP unit to a 9–15V power supply. Do not exceed the voltage range, as doing so will damage the device.

  3. Connect the Ethernet cable from the LQ-10 AP unit to the supplied Ethernet adapter, and connect the Ethernet cable to the computer's LAN port. Before proceeding, make sure you know how to configure a static IP address in Windows. Refer to the following link: https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/607778502.

  4. Set the computer's IP address to 192.168.1.123, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the gateway to 192.168.1.1.

  1. Open a browser on the computer, enter the default address 192.168.1.201, and press Enter to open the LQ management page. If the interface below appears, the connection is successful. If the web page cannot be opened, go to Firmware Upgrade and Recovery, restore the factory settings using the physical method, and try opening the page again. After successfully opening the web page, enter the administrator account: admin and password: admin to access the web management system.

Tip

If you have more devices to add to the network, repeat steps 8 and 9. IP addresses in the web interface must not be duplicated.
  1. Wait for the devices to connect successfully. Communication can then begin.

How to Verify a One-to-Many Network Connection

  1. Physical indication:

The LQ-10 enclosure has an RSSI indicator. When the RSSI indicator remains steadily illuminated, the device is connected successfully. When the indicator changes to flashing red, the device has no connection.

  1. Web interface:
  • Open the device IP address in a browser on the PC (IP: 192.168.1.2). Click “Device Status” in the navigation bar on the left to open the network settings page, and check whether the peer devices' IP addresses and online information appear under “IP Address.”

  • You can open the management pages of the other two devices directly in the web interface (that is, 192.168.1.3 or 192.168.1.4).

  1. Ping command:
