Advanced Features

LQ-10 series products provide MSS and STP functions. These functions help users make better use of the device and improve its performance and stability.

MSS Function

MSS (Maximum Segment Size) is a parameter in the TCP/IP protocol. It defines the maximum length of a data packet in TCP. The MSS setting can affect TCP performance because TCP is a byte-stream protocol. The MSS parameter can be configured according to the user's network environment and application scenario. Enabling MSS optimizes the TCP maximum segment size and resolves web pages that fail to open because of complex links.

Configure the MSS function as follows:

• Open the configuration web page, click “Advanced Features” on the left to open the advanced features page, and select “MSS MTU Optimization.”
• Turn on the MSS switch.
• Click “Save and Apply Immediately.”

STP Function

STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) is a protocol in IEEE 802.1D. It is a link aggregation protocol used to establish a Layer 2 virtual LAN within a network. STP can help improve network reliability and stability and reduce network loops. It automatically detects and blocks physical loops on a LAN, preventing network storms from causing disconnections.

Configure the STP function as follows:

• Open the configuration web page, click “Advanced Features” on the left to open the advanced features page, and select “STP.”
• Turn on the STP switch.
• Click “Save and Apply Immediately.”
