Quick start guide to one-to-many configuration for beginners.
Star networking is a method of connecting multiple LQ devices over a wireless network to form a star network and enable communication between the devices. LQ one-to-many networking is a typical star network topology. It is similar to using a router as the central node and connecting multiple devices, such as mobile phones, computers, and tablets, to the router, with communication between the devices implemented through the central router.Tip
Before reading this chapter, make sure you have finished reading the "Unboxing Guide" chapter and completed the basic assembly of the LQ units. Before starting the procedures in this chapter, also make sure you have at least three LQ devices.

Preparation Before Configuration
- LQ3 Data Link Station Unit Preparation
- Connect the Ethernet cable supplied with the LQ3 Data Link Station Unit to the Station Unit's Ethernet port and the laptop computer, respectively.
- Briefly press the power button. After you hear a beep, press and hold the button until the operation indicator flashes, indicating that the device has entered operating mode.

- LQ3 Data Link Mobile Unit Preparation
- Connect the Ethernet cable supplied with the LQ3 Data Link Mobile Unit to the Mobile Unit's Ethernet port and the laptop computer, respectively.
- Connect the power cable supplied with the LQ3 Data Link Mobile Unit to the charging port, and set the supply voltage to 12V~18V.

Star Networking Configuration Method
Caution
This chapter covers only the basic network configuration method and quick implementation method for star networking. For detailed information about advanced configuration methods such as transparent serial transmission and SBUS, refer to the <<Detailed Configuration Methods>> chapter for further study.

First, prepare three or more LQ devices. Designate one as the LQ primary device (AP unit) and two (or more) as LQ secondary devices (STA units).

Connect the LQ primary device to a power supply or power it on. Do not exceed the voltage range; otherwise, the device will be damaged.

Connect the LQ Ethernet cable to your computer. Before proceeding to the next step, make sure you know how to configure a static IP address in Windows. Refer to the following link to learn how: https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/607778502.

Set the local IP address to 192.168.1.123, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the gateway to 192.168.1.1.

Open a browser on your computer, enter 192.168.1.200 in the address bar, and press Enter. The LQ management page should open, and reaching the interface shown below indicates success. If you cannot access the web page, go to <<Firmware Upgrade and Recovery>>, restore the factory settings through the hardware, and then try accessing the web page again.

Click “Network Settings” in the left navigation bar to open the Network Settings page.

Keep the settings in the red box below consistent with those shown in the image, and click “Save Parameters and Reboot Immediately.”

Connect the two LQ secondary devices to the computer using the method above. Access the web management page, then click “Network Settings” in the left navigation bar to open the Network Settings page.

Keep the settings in the red box below consistent with those shown in the image, and click "Save" and "Reboot." Note: Change the ESSID and password as appropriate for your situation, but make sure the ESSID and password are identical on all devices participating in the network.


Tip
If you have more devices to add to the network, simply repeat steps 8 and 9, continuing to increment the IP address in the “Local IP Address” field on the web page.
- Wait for the devices to connect successfully, after which they can communicate.
How to Determine Whether Devices in the Star Network Are Connected Successfully:

Physical check: The LQ enclosure has a built-in signal indicator. When the indicator on an LQ device is steadily lit, the device is connected successfully. When the indicator flashes, the device has no connection.

Web page check:
- Access the primary device through the Ethernet port (IP:192.168.1.200): Click “Online Information” in the left navigation bar to open the Network Settings page. Check whether “IP Address” contains the IP information for the primary device and the two secondary devices, and verify that the status of every device is online.

- With the Ethernet cable connected to the primary device (AP device): Verify that you can access the web page of any secondary device (that is, 192.168.1.201 or 192.168.1.202).


- Ping command check: Use the ping command on the computer to test whether the IP addresses of the primary device and secondary devices can be pinged. If they can be pinged, the two devices are connected successfully.
