Overview

Developed by AMOVLAB, the LQ module is a wireless communication module that operates in the 2.4 GHz band. It features high speed, low power consumption, low cost, and low complexity. The LQ module supports a maximum bandwidth of 40 Mbps and offers multiple networking modes, including point-to-point, star, and mesh networking, to meet the needs of different communication scenarios. It supports several external data interfaces and transmission modes, including transparent serial transmission, serial multicast, SBUS, and Ethernet. Its embedded BOA server enables dynamic web-based configuration over a local area network. The module is suitable for smart homes, UAVs, unmanned ground vehicles, and other applications that require wireless communication.

Version Differences

The LQ module is available in two versions: LQ-3 and LQ-Mesh. Both versions include two unit types: a Data Link Station Unit and a Data Link Mobile Unit. Their configurations are shown below:

The primary difference is that LQ-Mesh adds mesh networking to the features provided by LQ-3. This enables simultaneous communication among multiple devices and is suitable for large-scale communication scenarios. In simple terms, LQ-Mesh provides mesh networking in addition to all the functions available on LQ-3.

The LQ module supports multiple flexible configurations. At the network communication level, these configurations fall into three categories: point-to-point, one-to-many, and mesh networking.

  • Point-to-point configuration: Two devices establish a point-to-point connection, allowing both devices to send and receive data.

  • One-to-many configuration: One device establishes connections with multiple devices, allowing all devices to send and receive data.

  • Mesh networking: Multiple devices form a network in which all devices can send and receive data. Compared with one-to-many configuration, mesh networking can relay data to extend the communication range. This function is supported only by LQ-Mesh.
