LQ Remote Controller User Guide

The following tutorial describes settings related to the remote controller. As shown below, the controller has two joysticks: a left joystick and a right joystick.

Powering the remote controller on and off

Power on: short press + long press Power off: short press + long press

  • The remote controller's factory-default joystick layout is Mode 2. During flight, use the left joystick to control altitude and direction, and use the right joystick to control the aircraft's forward, backward, leftward, and rightward movement.
Joystick action Function
Push the left joystick up Increase the UAV's altitude
Push the left joystick down Decrease the UAV's altitude
Push the left joystick left Turn the UAV's nose horizontally to the left
Push the left joystick right Turn the UAV's nose horizontally to the right
Push the right joystick up Move the UAV horizontally forward
Push the right joystick down Move the UAV horizontally backward
Push the right joystick left Move the UAV horizontally to the left
Push the right joystick right Move the UAV horizontally to the right

Joystick channels

Channel Function
Channel 5 (SWA) The default UAV arming switch. Moving the switch from the upper position to the lower position arms the UAV.
Channel 6 (SWB) The default UAV emergency motor stop switch. Moving the switch from the upper position to the lower position immediately stops the UAV's motors.
Channel 7 (SWC) The default UAV return-to-home mode switch. When the switch is moved from the upper position to the lower position, the UAV enters return-to-home mode if it has a GPS position fix.
Channel 8 (SWD) Controls the flight mode. By default, the upper position is Position mode, the middle position is Land mode, and the lower position is Mission mode.

Remote controller signal indicator:

Interface 1: Indicates the remote controller's signal strength:

Status Description
White 100%    Blue 80%    Green 60%    Yellow 40%
Red 20%    Flashing red 0%
A red light indicates a poor signal (see state A in the figure).
This is generally caused by interference, obstruction, or exceeding the communication range.
If the red light comes on or flashes, adjust the antenna or have the aircraft return to home to ensure flight safety.
In the figure, state B indicates the strongest signal. The signals in states B, C, and D become weaker in sequence.

Remote controller battery level indicator

Interface 2: The indicator on the side is the battery level indicator. A full charge provides 6 hours of use. When the battery level is low, the remote controller emits a "beep-beep..." sound. It can be charged with a Type-C charger. Do not use a fast charger for a mobile phone or computer, especially while the remote controller is still in use. A high-voltage Type-C charger may cause the remote controller to operate abnormally.

Remote controller charging port

Interface 3: This is the remote controller charging port. Connect a standard Type-C connector to charge it. You can use a USB data cable to connect it to a computer and continue using it while it charges.

WARNING

The remote controller charging port is a standard USB port with a rated voltage of 5 V. Using a high-power Type-C connector may cause the remote controller to operate abnormally, especially if a charger is connected while the remote controller is in use. When charging it during use, use a computer's USB port.

Remote controller Ethernet port

Interface 5: This is a standard Ethernet port. Connect it to a computer running the ground control station for data transmission through network IP communication.

Remote controller data communication port

Interface 4: This is the data communication interface of the remote controller. Users who are not familiar with it are advised not to use it. If you need to use it, refer to the detailed LQ3 data link configuration. Exercise caution during use to avoid incorrect parameter settings that could render it unusable.
